Cindy Gilstrap is a mixed media artist with a love for bright colors, quirky design, and anything vintage. She believes creative play is such a gift to give yourself and loves inspiring students to just play and enjoy the creative process. She loves combining her bright colors, especially pink and orange, with vintage items to give them new life. You will find combinations of vintage elements, fabric, stitching, and paint in Cindy’s work. Cindy loves spreading joy with her art and her quirky style often extends to her outfits and her decorating style.

CIndy lives in Dallas, Texas with her hubby, 3 dogs, and feels blessed to have her grown kids and extended family close by. She teaches online and in person art journal classes and loves collaborating with other artists. You can find Cindy at:

What Found Floral is all about:

In this class you will be creating a colorful, fun, playful found floral collage from a mix of paper, paint, fabric, stitching, and more. This class encourages you to play and enjoy the process of combining various items that you may not think about combining. It’s a great way to use your stash and scraps that you may have left over from other projects. Hand stitching or slow stitching will be part of the process with an option to use free motion machine stitching. The found floral collage will become the focal point of a unique art journal that you will learn how to bind and that you can use for art journaling, sketching, writing, and more.

A supply list will be provided but you are encouraged to shop your stash and use what you have on hand. (Note: a sewing machine is not required but an option to use if you have one.)
