Meet Kiala Givehand
Kiala Givehand, MFA, Ed.S., is a multi-passionate artist, published poet, bookbinder, printmaker, fountain pen collector, and road trip warrior who is passionate about storytelling, astrology, sacred geometry, mandalas, and other ancient intuitive guidance systems. She believes in surrounding herself with ordinary humans who live extraordinary lives and gathering with people who allow her to laugh and love uncontrollably. She lives a life intent on cultivating happiness and, along with her Yoga teacher husband Damon, guides women, men, and couples through The 12 Radical Intentions for a R.I.C.H. Life™ and hosts the Sacred Makers Soul Retreat @ Squam Lake.
Kiala creates safe spaces for women from all over the world to experience creative & spiritual awakenings and gives them the tools to find what makes them happy so they can pursue it without regrets. She is on a mission to demystify creativity, spirituality, and self-expression. Her favorite way to start those conversations is to teach people how to make handmade books where they can document their lived experience through ideas, images, and stories in order to deepen their relationship with the Divine.
She is the creator of the Mixed Media Inspiration Deck™, the visionary behind Pull Pen Paint™, the hands that created The Book-in-a-Day YouTube series, a SoulCollage® facilitator & trainer, a Cave Canem fellow, a Voices of Our Nations (VONA) alum, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In this interactive class, Kiala shares some of her favorite techniques for activating the blank page and moving energy to create a vibrant vessel to hold your ideas, images, and imagination. She shares her favorite color palettes, her love of mixing mediums, and how she creates her tried-and-true journaling sidekicks. From brown paper bags to bits of fabric and franken-pages, Kiala takes you on a journey in YOUR studio to find the things you might otherwise throw away.
